Bayville Elks make $5K donation to Toms River Animal Shelter

 Good News Notes:

“Employees at Toms River’s Animal Shelter were expecting a donation from the Bayville Elks Lodge. But when all the supplies arrived, they were overwhelmed by how much the Elks had bought.”

“It took a convoy of nine trucks, five sport-utility vehicles, and 32 members of Bayville Elks Lodge 2394 to transport it and unload it, with the help of township employees and volunteers, Mayor Thomas F. Kelaher said.”

“The Elks received a $2,500 grant from the Elks National Federation, and matched that amount with their own funds to purchase items for the shelter.  Members of the Lodge purchased pet supplies from Walmart, Pet Supplies Plus and Chewy.com, including cat and dog beds, leashes, cat and dog food, cat litter, toys and other items. They also collected towels and blankets for the shelter from the community.”
