The MSPCA-Angell in Boston announced Wednesday morning that nine healthy, 5-month-old purebred Australian Shepherd puppies are available for adoption after they were surrendered from a home south of Boston “by an owner who … grew overwhelmed with caring for them and the adult dogs in the home.”

“MSPCA officials say it’s the largest single surrender of ‘Aussie’ puppies in at least the last ten years, possibly ever,” a spokesperson wrote in an email.

The pups are at the organization’s Jamaica Plain adoption center and interested adopters can apply here.

“Officials implore would-be adopters to apply early, as no doubt the puppies will go quickly,” the email says.

Before you jump at the opportunity though, be advised: “Like all herding dogs, the puppies are supremely active,” the spokesperson noted….”
