“When Milwaukee Police Officer Kevin Zimmermann saw the three kids bouncing around in the backseat without restraints, his thoughts immediately turned to his own children. “I’m a father myself, I have three kids,” Zimmermann told WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee. “I thought of my kids jumping around. What if a car hit them and they flew and got seriously hurt, if not killed?”
“Zimmermann, who pulled the car over earlier this month for improper registration, knew he had to intervene. But he didn’t ticket the driver. Instead, he bought car seats for her two youngest children and then installed them in her car.”
“The driver, Andrella “Lashae” Jackson, is a single mother of five. She has bills due and needs coats and boots for her children with winter approaching. She had just bought the car at an auction and had trouble affording that, let alone car seats.”
